Avengers Assemble - Review

I have nothing of scholarly note to add to the thousands of Avengers reviews that hasn’t already been said, but here’s my 2 cents nonetheless. (apologies here to everyone who is bored of hearing about the film - maybe take a holiday for a while because its not going away)
What was there not to love? There’s the good guys, the bad guys and a hapless planet earth in need of saving yet again, so I could conclude here by saying; If you haven’t seen it - between all of the above and the amazing special effects, I’m sure you’ll thoroughly enjoy it. The film was done really well and this is a double nod to Whedon for his writing and direction. He has made sure that every character shines throughout, not an easy feat for a film with a full A-list cast of superheroes (though I have to say, for my money, Iron Man has the best lines)
Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner was brilliant (I mean who doesn’t have a crush on the hulk?) And Chris Evans’ Captain America was more dashing and heroic than in his previous outing as the Captain last summer. Samuel L Jackson could not have been more perfect for the role of Nick Fury and Chris Hemsworth as Thor is positively other-worldly.
What could have worked against this film, Whedon has used to its advantage. Yes its a formulaic blockbuster film adapted from a comic, but the story was well developed as were all the characters, especially those whom we have seen in previous solo outings. And at two and half hours the film doesn’t feel too long, but rather, more like an appetiser and I for one really hope that this franchise has started as it means to go on, because I’m already willing on the next course.
8/10

Avengers & Wrath of The Titans….
The only two movies that I watched at the cinema while here and BOTH were so disappointing. Both films - I felt like I was watching scenes of other movies all stitched together. Even worse I Fell asleep during parts of wrath of titans and every time I awoke the movie was still going on.
