The beauty of Michel Gondry is that he can do Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and then he does something like The Thorn in the Heart. He is the master of exploration and yet he skillfully expresses the nuances in people groups that we always look at as being, “cut from the same cloth.” Whether its  through the complexities of his own family relationships, or through looking at the relationships between teenagers on a school bus. Its coming out next week and I’m 50/50 on this one. It looks like it could be a fun, feel good film, with something for everyone. But have we seen everything there is to see in the trailer?</p> <p>Shauna Cross who was behind the screenplay for Whip It is one of the writers, whilst Kirk Jones is the Director. He’s not directed anything like this and doesn’t have many features under his belt, so I’m certainly intrigued to see what comes from the film, which is an adaptation of a parenting manual… An ensemble cast of mid-weight actors will pull audiences in on this one and the trailer suggests that there’s everything to play for here.
